Sustainable Green Model Villages in the Southern Province for the Sustainability of Current Agriculture in Sri Lanka as a New Productivity Strategy.

MULTI PURPOSE SCHEME

It is proposed to use around 300 acres of land located close to the Matara-Colombo Main Road and the Ocean for this project.

We formed the “warisewana” concept to create a ‘shelter’ around the village tank for the ones who seek these qualities and culture, while guiding the community in a responsible manner. Here our ultimate goal is to conserve the village tank and surrounding, while amalgamating the society again towards the tank.

THE SPACES BASED ON VARISEWANA

The Lodges

The idea was to create 4 - 5 hideaway forest cabins to facilitate for new visitors who are willing to experience the nature in isolation. The design will be done with submerging the cabins into the forest non clearing the forest patch.

Nature Trail

All the spaces are linking through the nature trail. The nature trail is designed clearing about the existing conditions and without harming important areas like catchment area and water streams.

Catchment Area

It shows that small streams of water flowing from the catchment area far away enter to the tank freely. This reflects the way the surroundings are arranged so that the tourist can experience the beauty.
